Short Bio

Dr. Zhiling Gu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of South Carolina. Her research lies at the intersection of functional data analysis, spatiotemporal modeling, nonparametric statistics, and trustworthy artificial intelligence. She develops robust and scalable statistical and machine learning methods for high-dimensional data, with applications in neuroimaging, mental health, and environmental science. Previously, she was a postdoc associate in the Department of Biostatistics at Yale School of Public Health. She received her Ph.D. in Statistics from Iowa State University and B.Sc. and M.Phil. from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
